Types of Surveys

ALTA/ACSM Survey

An ALTA survey is a property survey based on a set of guidelines jointly established by the American Land Title Association and the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping. The guidelines protect the interest of land buyers, sellers, lenders and title insurance companies relating to commercial property conveyances. A full abstract is researched on the subject parcel and then surveyed to ground and mapped showing all encumbrances that can be graphically plotted.

Boundary Survey

A Boundary survey is often called a Lot survey or Stake survey. The end result is the monumentation or staking of all property corners determined from your legal description of insured property. This could be a lot in a platted subdivision or detached site condominium or a metes and bounds parcel in a rural area commencing or beginning at a government section corner. Each situation will need to be retraced from the original survey.
